How Do You Learn How To Write A Screenplay? by Rachel K. Ofori

Film Courage: How did you learn to write screenplays or stage plays?

Rachel K. Ofori, Producer/Writer: I don’t think I ever learned to write screenplays or stage plays. I learned what was in story that connected with people and then figured it out and put that into lines. That’s really what it is. People go to school and read books, they’re trying to find out what a story is and then how to relay it.

But I think consuming all types of content really can teach you that in such a way because I go to the movies multiple times a week. I don’t watch TV but I go to the movies all of the time but I’m watching the audience too. What was the moment where they kind of leaned back or what was the moment that they reacted to it…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
