Film Courage: What’s your favorite part of the writing process?
Gavin Gaitan, Writer, Producer, and Director: Oh, man. The moment…it’s like bam, it hits and then you go and go and go and you lose track of time and it’s a euphoria because before that, it’s like a lot of this, what if I lost it?
What if it’s gone, what if I’ll never be able to write again?
Then all of a sudden when you’re just coming up with scenes out of thin air because you’ve wrote down an idea vaguely for a scene and then you thought well, wait a minute, actually that would be a great setup to do this other thing later.
Now you start writing this other thing.
Then you think like well, actually good motivation for that would be if I at the beginning of the film had them do this thing.
That blossoming, it’s euphoric.
