-How do I become a New York Times best-selling author?;
-How do I get my book in bookstores, and;
-How do I sell to a traditional publisher?
Every day I’m probably asked all three of those things.
Film Courage: And people are still caring about bookstores?
Anna: Even though the bookstores are slowly going away, everybody has that experience of going to a bookstore as a kid or whatever, your experiences are with bookstores. There’s something so gratifying about seeing your own work in a bookstore.
Film Courage: What are the five biggest mistakes authors make when writing a book?
Anna: The five biggest mistakes (I’m sure I’ve made all of them):
1) Not asking who your book is for;
2) Focusing on all the wrong things like The New York Times Bestseller List;

Anna David is the New York Times bestselling author of two novels and six non-fiction books. She has appeared repeatedly on Today, The Talk, Good Morning America and had a running segment on G4’s Attack of the Show that she co-hosted with Olivia Munn for three years. Her company, Legacy Launch Pad, writes and publishes books for thought leaders and her podcast has featured interviews with authors such as Robert Greene and Chris Voss. Her first book, Party Girl, is in development as a film tentatively scheduled to be shot in 2023.
