Film Courage: Why is thinking bad?
Jocelyn Jones, Acting Teacher/Author: I don’t think thinking is bad, I just think it’s overdone. We think all the time, all the time, all the time. I had trouble sleeping last night because of something that’s coming up that is a bit of a problem for me and I’m going to have to figure out how to handle it (in a good way). I started thinking, as I’m thinking and I’m thinking and I’m thinking and I’m thinking and I’m going Oh my God, I’m driving myself crazy with thinking that I’m going nowhere with this thinking, it’s just worrying. Too much thinking. How much do we worry? All of that worry is useless thinking. How much do we think about the past?
Oh listen, did I say that?
Was that okay?
I don’t know what happened yesterday with that woman?
I don’t know?
We think about the past, we think about the future, they don’t exist. There is no past. It happened, it’s done. There is no future, it hasn’t happened yet, it’s going to be born out of your actions right now. So we’re going to think, it’s a beautiful tool. We’re spiritual beings in bodies and we’re here to have an experience and we have these fantastic tools like thinking which is overused and..(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
