How To Sell A Television Show – Jim Agnew

Film Courage: Can you take us through the process of how you pitched to ABC?

Jim Agnew, Screenwriter: This is a question I get asked a lot. TV projects are very different than film. TV you don’t have to have a pilot…let me rephrase that… you have to write out a pilot if you don’t have a history of writing (if you don’t have a track record and haven’t sold anything). Now if you have, you don’t have to write a pilot, you have to write a pitch. But for most people who are coming up, you have to actually write the pilot for the show. BIO:

Jim Agnew is a director, writer and producer, known for The Capture (2017), Rage (2014) and Game of Death (2011). A former contributor/writer to Film Threat who played guitar for the Industrial Rock group Hate Dept. Jim has worked with such directors as Dario Argento and John Carpenter as well as Oscar-winning actors, producers and writers.
