Film Courage: How do you know if a director is the real deal?
Andy Rydzewski, Cinematographer: Directors are kind of the biggest wildcard on the set in terms of…well it’s close between actors and directors but a director dictates so much of how a job goes for me and it’s a big part of why I will say yes or no to the job for sure is the director. I think going back to something we talked about earlier is I need to feel engaged (creatively engaged) and if I’m not, it might not be the right job for me and the director is usually who dictates that. Sometimes that is because they want a ton of control, sometimes it’s because they don’t know what they want at all…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
