Film Courage: Does a movie start with an idea or does it start with an audience?
Jeff Deverett, Film Producer, Entrepreneur, Writer, Director: It depends who you ask. I would say an idea and then you would gauge whether there is an audience for that idea. But if you do have an audience and you want to cater to that audience and there’s a demand, then you create an idea to cater to it (not unlike a product), right? Again, let’s use Apple as an example. The founders of Apple said Hey, the computer market is new and we need something that is super-user friendly. That’s what the audience (the consumers) want, they want super, super-friendly. Then they create (I think) a product to cater to that demand…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
