Film Courage: Once you thought of The Nutshell Technique you sat down and watched 100 plus movies and wrote in notebooks. When did you actually write the book?
Jill Chamberlain, Script Consultant/Author/Writer: I created the method and I started using it right away with my clients and students in workshops. And I’ve been doing it probably about 5 years and my students kept telling me You’ve got to write a book. You’ve got to write a book.
Somebody from The University of Texas Press happened to take my workshop and said “There is nothing like your method on the bookshelves.” And I said “I know.” And he said “You should write a book proposal.” And so I did and that is how the book came about.
Film Courage: Interesting. You’ve kind of put yourself in a whole new realm because now you’re writing an outline or you are querying publishers or did Texas Press say “This is it, love it.” Did you have to go through this whole process?
