Film Courage: How old were you when you made your first feature film?

Gavin Michael Booth, Writer/Director/Cinematographer: I was 23-years-old. I’d watched Kevin Smith in high school…well maybe 22? I’d watched Kevin Smith, [Robert] Rodriguez, Richard Linklater. All of these guys come up and I made my film between $7,000 and $25,000 dollars. I just maxed my credit card, sold my comic book, sold my car and then I went and put it in Sundance and signed a million dollar deal with Miramax.

I’m like Oh? That’s all it takes? I can come up with $25,000 and then fail miserably. Because what they leave out of all of those glossy stories is that you have to make an amazing movie. Making an amazing movie for no money when you have no idea what you’re doing is…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
