Film Courage: How does someone prep for a spec script?

David Wappel, Screenwriter:  I think there are as many ways to prep for a spec script as there are people writing spec scripts because it’s not an assignment so you can do whatever you want to do.

I know some people who immediately dive in because there is no pressure so they can discover it on the page. I know some people who research for months just to figure out what they want to write about. They have a topic but they don’t know the story…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
