The Climb To Be An Artist Is Much Harder Than It Seems by Dui Jarrod

Film Courage: Knowing that maybe you rushed into your first feature film and you have lots of things you might have done differently, do you think it’s better you did that, rather than still be talking about making a feature film 10 years out?

Dui Jarrod, Writer/Director: It was the right decision to make. I don’t fault…I don’t regret having done the film. It was really exciting. I still watch it every now and then. I’m like Oh this is actually a good little film! I’m still excited about it. But what I think (the realization that I’ve come to) is that in order to cook the meal that you need to cook you need to have all your ingredients on the table.

So now I’m taking a much more realistic approach with budget. I’m still not in the million dollar range but I am at the place where I know a certain level of professionalism that I need, a certain level of talent that I need, so to approach work now with a little more savvy and making sure I have those ingredients is a little more important but I’m glad that I…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
