Film Courage: At the beginning of a romantic comedy is it best that the two leads hate each other or intensely dislike each other? Does that make the viewer…you know…if it’s too easy going…I mean that’s boring in some sense. Why are we intrigued by…whether it’s two co-workers or the college friend who always made fun of you…why are we intrigued by this scenario in a romantic comedy?
Pamela Jaye Smith: I think it goes back again to your previous question about opposites attracting and you are not going to get any sparks if you agree all the time. This is just not going to be interesting. Give me somebody who challenges me.
