THOMAS BEATTY – WRITER/DIRECTOR/PRODUCER

THE BIG ASK is Thomas Beatty’s first feature film as director. He has previously shot a number of short films, and along with his writing partner, Matthew Gasteier, he is repped by UTA and has projects in development with Broken Road and Scott Stuber Productions, among others. His projects in development include THE BOOK OF BEBB with Ned Beatty and Margo Martindale attached to star, and Ali Selim attached to direct. During his five years at Lakeshore Entertainment, Beatty helped guide thirteen films from script to screen including UNDERWORLD 3 and CRANK. Previous to that, he worked for Chris Gerolmo on the award-winning but short-lived FX television series OVER THERE. Beatty has also directed plays in New York and Los Angeles, and is an award-winning playwright who was recently commissioned to write a new play for the Echo Theater Company in Los Angeles. Beatty spent a year in New York working behind the scenes on the Broadway production of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF starring Ashley Judd and Jason Patric. He attended Brown University where he had the great privilege of working with Paula Vogel and Oskar Eustis, among others.

REBECCA FISHMAN – DIRECTOR

Rebecca Fishman is a director, photographer, musician, and native Angeleno. THE BIG ASK is her first feature film as director. Previously, Fishman shot and directed the short film, ZAK GOES TO THE OFFICE, and the web TV pilot KISS N’ TELL, the latter of which is in development at McG’s production company, Wonderland Sound and Video. As a photographer, Fishman specializes in portraits, lifestyle, and food photography. She has shot for such publications as The Atlantic, C Magazine, LA Weekly, Serious Eats, and Curbed, and her work can be seen at Rebeccafishman.com. As a musician, Fishman can be found performing in her cover band Charlie Limousine, and as Christine McVie in the new Fleetwood Mac tribute show, Rumours. She graduated magna cum laude from Brown University.
