Huffington Post Proclaims “SANTIAGO Shines At Evening of Dreams” – Our Farewell Film Courage Screening

We couldn’t have asked for a better night for our Film Courage Interactive Finale on January 30th, 2012 at the Downtown Independent in Los Angeles.  It was a packed house that showcased the work of talented filmmakers Felix Ortiz, Brian Durkin & Craig Wilson.  There was a DJ who provided us all music in the lobby, a red carpet with photographers, and a crowd excited to celebrate independent film.

Though we couldn’t have asked for anything more.  It was a nice surprise when earlier today we saw this tweet from Filmmaker Brian Durkin.

It’s thrilling for us to see great films like SANTIAGO and THE TERRAIN get recognition they both deserve from an outlet like the Huffington Post.

Overall it’s a great write-up on our event.  Here’s what’s written about the crowd and the emotion many of us felt.

"Creativity was everywhere; it was heavy in the air like condensation. Throughout the room, the entire building, creative people mixed, mingled, each tinged with the excitement of a dream fulfilled. It was premiere night at the Los Angeles Downtown Independent."

Also in the article…

"Because the real, true spirit of film and art is alive in these halls this night. I can sense it, drawn to it, as an artist myself. And everyone in the room knows how hard it is to be an artist, a working artist. But not impossible, at least not this night."

That describes the spirit we attempted to build over the course of 2 years and 26 events we put on in that time from 2010 through 2012.  (We agree, being a working artist is not impossible and it is certainly going to take lots of hard work.)

We wanted to thank the many of you who participated in our Interactive events either as a filmmaker or as an attendee.  We have walked away the majority of nights inspired by the efforts of our fellow artists.

The night has always been about the art & the artists.  In that light, we would like to congratulate Felix and Brian and their creative teams.
