Sammy Horowitz, Action-Actor, Stuntman, Playwright, and Screenwriter: I think it’s surreal. I couldn’t have ever imagined this. I used to be in my prison cell dreaming about maybe like one day I know…

Film Courage: Of all your stories, screenplays, theatrical plays, what’s the closest to your heart? What means the most?

Sammy: My plays.

Film Courage: You have at least three of them?

Sammy: I have two full-length plays. I have two short plays and I have three outlines for full-length plays. Only one of my plays has been produced and there’s a simple reason for that.

Adam Pasen and I are partners 50/50 partners on every single television pilot or reality show or movie film that we write, we are partners on those things. When you read those scripts they’re ours, they’re both of our voices put together.

My plays are mine, his plays are his. He’s got his own plays that he gets out there. I have my plays. They are my voice and only my voice. I feel like they’re a part of me so that’s why they’re very important to me.

Film Courage: You said only one had been performed?

Sammy: One had been produced. I wrote a play kind of by accident.

I woke up with a name on my mind when I first moved to LA and the name was Musket Cherry. I wrote it down. My wife and I were living right next to Larchmont in KoreaTown [Los Angeles]. I wrote it down. I’m like Wow, it’s crazy! I don’t know why it popped into my brain? I have no idea why? I never did any theater…(Watch the video interview on YouTube here).
