Film Courage: When you talk about the entrepreneurial aspects of building a story or a franchise, what are some of the counter points that students or people who have found your book say? And also, what are the age groups of the people are encountering your stance?
Houston Howard: Yeah, the people that sort of push back against it? So the biggest pushback is what I was just talking about is, the biggest pushback as always is…it’s going to diminish the beginning. It’s going to diminish the first thing, it’s going to diminish the first experience that they have.
But for me, that looks at the whole situation as…I don’t want to say selfish point of view…but looking at it just from a filmmaker’s perspective and not from an audience perspective. There’s a school of thought philosophy out there called phenomenology. And phenomenology states that…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
