Film Courage: Why did you go with FilmHub?
Wade Patterson, Filmmaker: At the time they had the best terms I think for where I was at.
They probably offered the most opportunity at that point to get out onto some bigger streaming platforms and only taking I think 20% is what they take.
Compared to some of the other things I was looking at, there are a lot of other distributors that take more or they recoup a certain amount before they pay out anything.
I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about predatory distributors, people who let’s say they have a marketing budget of $15,000 that they want to make back and they make sure they hit that number no matter what (so I’ve been told).
I haven’t had that experience because I kind of just avoided that. But I have heard several people where they audit and you realize they made the $15,000 already and they made sure they hit that number and then now you start seeing some of the money.
The nice thing about the budget I was at was like it’s not going to be hard to make back the budget.
I just have to get it out there.

For me, having it on Tubi is great because anyone can watch it and people have been watching it.
I don’t see a lot of metrics, but I have seen that someone’s watching it every day at least.
That has been really cool to see, right?
Film Courage: Well, you should see a view from me. I got one more view recently. But you don’t really know the territories or it’s not broken down?
Wade: Apparently from what I understand Tubi doesn’t share metrics.
Even if you paid the full subscription fee on FilmHub you still wouldn’t see everything there.
Amazon does share, I think Apple does share but I don’t think Tubi for some reason they don’t share directly all the numbers.
Film Courage: My one view that I watched, you’ll see that someone watched on this date or just within a span of like 30 days or something?
Wade: All I see is actually the dollars and cents.
That’s the only metric I have…(Watch the video interview on YouTube here).
