Film Courage: In our last interview, we talked about finishing a project and maybe feeling shame or hating what you’ve done.
Do you still feel that way about the way you work?
Adam Argot, Story Artist/Instructor/YouTube: For some reason I just have this process every time I get about 75% through any project, I hate it for some reason.
I don’t know why it is.
Whether I’m working professionally…when I’m working professionally, I keep it to myself.
I don’t make my drama other people’s problems.
But I think it has something to do with when you’re working on a project and it’s succeeding and you’re making progress on it, you get to a point where you’re like,
Oh, I see the ending. I see where this is going.

When you set out on a project, you have all these ideas of what it could be.
Once you start bringing it to life and putting in a body, you also start seeing its limitations.
You start saying like,
Oh, I’m going to have this explosion here and this awesome set piece where the bridge opens up and the trucks are going to be falling down. Everyone’s going to be fighting on the side. It’s going to be vertical. It’ll be awesome.
Then you start writing it.
You produce it and you get it to the point where you’re like, “This doesn’t really mean that much.”
Then you think that it has more of a delivery. Basically, it’s the problem of being too close to it.
