Film Courage: I believe you gave yourself an ultimatum that you must make a feature film. What happened?
Wade Patterson, Filmmaker: I’d had the project back in 2017 in Mississippi.
I’d had a project fall through, crumble, and I thought that was going to be my chance to make a feature film.
Didn’t happen. I moved to LA.
There were a couple other opportunities where I was trying to get things together.
I never got as close as that project, but talking to people about putting financing together, talking to people about putting a crew together, maybe I started casting right before COVID.

I actually had kind of started shooting a very low-budget project that was going to be a feature film and then COVID happened. It just fell apart because all the momentum died, people moved away after COVID.

Wade Patterson grew up in Jackson, MS, and has been making film projects since he was a kid. However, after taking a break from film to go to India to work with a non-profit, he rediscovered a passion for writing in Asia. He returned to America with an expanded worldview and a new focus on telling stories that explore the full range of the human experience. He works in Los Angeles as Freelance Director of Photography. His latest project is about a disgraced journalist discovering an online puzzle that causes people to disappear (Death Cipher).
