What Filmmakers Get Wrong About Distribution – Zac Reeder [FULL INTERVIEW]

Film Courage: Zac, how did you get involved in the business side of movies? 

Zac Reeder, Owner of Lucky 27 Media/Producer’s Rep, Distribution and Financing Consultant: I started way back when I was a fan of movies and TV. 

I wanted to be a creative on that side. 

As a high schooler and even before then, I was filming things with video cameras and writing and doing things. 

When I left for school, I went to UCLA and didn’t get in the film program even though I applied. 

I ended up as a psychology major. 

I was playing baseball, but I was in the center of entertainment, which was good for me because I knew I wanted to work in that. 

I started as an intern and as a PA working on TV, movies and different things in the summers and worked as an extra, which is a great way to get exposure to a film set. 

Eventually, my first job was in international servicing, so delivery of materials for films.
