Film Courage: Do you always have your next acting job lined up?

Trevor Newlin, Actor: I don’t. I think that’s the reality of being an actor. For people that are getting into this industry, that’s just the reality.

Whatever you want to do, whether it’s actor, director, nothing is guaranteed.

I’ve worked on incredible films and massive franchises and people always think like, “Oh, you’re killing it.”

It’s like, yes, I’m doing a lot of really amazing and fun work, but at the same time, once your job is done, your job is done and you’re unemployed just as anybody else is that works in the industry, right?

With the way things are with a lot of productions going overseas, pretty much all the major IPs are in Europe now, a lot of those jobs are kind of few and far between, especially for people that are in the union.

There’s a lot of non-union stuff happening.

But in regard to productions, shooting union stuff here in and especially Los Angeles, there’s not much.

I know they’re working on that.

And I hope we do get more productions back because LA needs it desperately.

We need the film industry here because so many people rely on that film industry to live.

This is the first year that I’ve had jobs lined up, back to back to back to back and I’m very very grateful for that.

But I don’t always have that happen.

Again, this is an amazing year, but next year it could be one job…(Watch the video interview on YouTube here).
