P.M. Lipscomb, Filmmaker: But here’s some truth. Talking about these as three different characters, there’s a lot of similarities here. There’s three different people that are trying to figure out how to become their best selves.
And if they find out how to become their best selves, they might save the ones they love.
Film Courage: We have some movie tarot cards here. It’s 78 characters based on The Hero’s Journey.
We’re wondering what’s the likelihood that there will be one character or movie that you’ve never heard of in this deck of cards?
P.M.: I think there’s probably an 86% chance that I will know what’s in the deck.
Film Courage: We’ll just choose one from any part of the deck. We’ll choose three total.
P.M.: I’ll choose this one right here. This one’s got my attention.
Film Courage: It’s the Queen of Wands.
P.M.: Yes, the Queen of Wands, right? It’s not Jennifer Lawrence, right?
Film Courage: Just so you know, the archetype for this character is women, especially older women: Mothers, nurturing, devoted, supportive, focused, truthful, both reflective and active, concerned with foundations, security, and dependency. So that’s Queen of Wands.
P.M.: This isn’t Jennifer Lawrence, though, is it?
Film Courage: I think it is.
P.M.: Well, then it’s her from Hunger Games.
Film Courage: There you go. It’s Katniss. It’s Jennifer Lawrence from the Hunger Games…(Watch the video interview on YouTube here).
