Film Courage: Welcome to our first story questions writing session John Keating. Thank you for being generous enough to write with us today.
John: You’re welcome, happy to help.
Film Courage: To those of you watching and wondering my name is David. Karen and I have switched places today. She’s running the camera, she’s doing the sound. I’ve moved over to the pilot seat but you may still hear her voice at some point.
Another thing for those of you watching, we also want to say this isn’t a writing session only for John. You’re going to be able to participate as well, so get your notepads ready, get your cell phones ready, get your laptops ready.
First we’re going to learn a little bit more about you John. Our first question:
Do you consider yourself a writer?
John: No I do not. I can write but it’s like directing. I can direct but I don’t like doing it.
Film Courage: But the thing is you have done some writing, it’s not like you’ve never written before?
John: Correct, yes I have.
Film Courage: What kind of things have you written?
John: Well, I wrote for a web series that I did with my accountability partner. I wrote I don’t know three or four, maybe half a dozen episodes of…(Watch the video interview on YouTube here).

Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, John Keating is pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles. In addition to acting and producing he has also written and directed . However he does not consider himself a writer or a director.
An accomplished martial artist, John began his karate journey in the early eighties while studying at the University of Kansas.
