Film Courage: If you had to start over and build a production company from scratch with the knowledge that you have now, how would you do it?

Khoa Le, Entrepreneur and Filmmaker: How would I do it? From a strategic standpoint or from a task standpoint?

Film Courage: Both. I like how you’re designating these two.

Khoa: From a strategy standpoint, I would definitely make sure that you are clear what the outcome is going to be. You want to know what you’re trying to get to and that clarity is so important because that’s how you create your decision making from the start, that’s how to troubleshoot and figure things out because that part is so clear.

Before I wasn’t so clear about it, before I just knew that I wanted to impact and that’s a loose term but the more you actually narrow down to what (I wouldn’t say it’s an end goal but almost something that almost feels impossible to achieve) but you know that that’s what you want to see before you’re dead, that’s what you need to figure out right from the beginning of when you make when you make the company. You have to think about:

Why do you want to exist?

Does the world need another company?

Does the world need another filmmaker?

Does the world need another production company?

Why do you want to compete?

If you want to make money going into a different industry. There’s plenty of places that make money, that can’t be the goal. Why are you going into production, because you love it that much? Why do you love that? Why do you love production so much?
