Producers Don’t Want To Read Your Screenplay Unless It Does These 3 Things – Alok Mishra

Film Courage: What three things does a producer want in a screenplay?

Alok Mishra, Producer of 1 BR Movie:  For me personally, I’m a genre producer. I want originality. If it’s not original I don’t want to have seen it for a long time and I want it to be 90 pages. I feel there are very few movies ( horror movies) that need to be longer than 90-minutes typically.  You’ll get The Shining and different things like that but but typically I think that horror movies and comedies should be:

-90 minutes;

-Get in;

-Get out;

-See the funny;

-See the scary;

That’s it.

Film Courage: What are the top reasons you would reject a screenplay?

Alok: It’s not original or I’ve seen it very recently. Is it an idea…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
