There Is No Acting In A Relationship by Rhomeyn Johnson

Film Courage: Rhomeyn you’ve mentioned a few times kind of having to choose between what you wanted to do in life and a relationship.

Rhomeyn Johnson, Actor: Right.

Film Courage: And I think there’s a lot of pressure on people (especially under 30) to make that choice and settle down.

If there is someone listening right now and let’s suppose they have something that is a good [career] offer or they have something that’s promising in one city and then they have someone in another city that they probably still care about and a life that is “planned out,” but they are on the fence. What kind of big brother advice would you give them?

Rhomeyn: Follow your heart. You have to always follow your heart because if somebody has your life planned out for you, that’s a problem right there because unless you have your life planned out the same way they have it planned out, it’s not going to work. Because eventually you always hear about people outgrowing each other “Well…we outgrew each other.” What that means is you didn’t outgrow them, you just grew up. You know what I’m saying? It’s not like you don’t care or love them, it’s just that you’ve evolved…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
