Film Courage: Ladies you have a scene in the film 47 METERS DOWN where there is a confessional and Mandy you are letting Claire know (as her sister) and Claire you’re unaware that there was a competition. Have you ever had someone in your acting career let you know the same and were you surprised? Were you taken aback that it was more about competition when it hadn’t been that way for either of you? If so, how do you handle it?
Claire Holt: I don’t think many people feel the need to compete with me…
Mandy Moore: Stop!
Claire Holt: I think I am [the one] chasing. No I haven’t had that experience before. Perhaps it’s been there and maybe someone hasn’t said it. Of course it’s a competitive industry and we’re all vying for the same roles and the same great jobs, but I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some great people, particularly with Mandy who was wonderful and there was no competitive bone in her body. She’s so supportive and kind and just such a great teammate. And so yeah, I haven’t really had that experience in the working world.
Mandy Moore: I haven’t either. I think I…(watch the video interview on Youtube here).

Film Courage: Do either of you have any good shark stories that happened before the filming or after?
Matthew Modine: I don’t have any shark stories, I just have a tremendous respect for sharks. They’re prehistoric animals, they are beautiful, they have a tremendous importance to the sea, the life of the sea…what’s the word I want?
Yani Gellman: The ecosystem?
Matthew Modine: The ecosystem of the ocean and I know that they are quickly becoming extinct because we are killing about a hundred million of them a year for their fins, for soup and for sport. And so when we think of the predator of the sea, really the biggest predator of the sea is man.
Yani Gellman: And what’s interesting about this film is that the sharks are not being hunted, it’s the people who are hunted. I feel that there is a kind of poetic justice to the sea. The sharks and the environment will bite back if we don’t treat it with proper respect.
