In this Los Angeles press roundtable, actor Benjamin Bratt talks about his role as Roberto Alcaino in the upcoming film THE INFILTRATOR (due in theaters July 13th, 2016). Alcaino is seen in this film (based on the book by Robert Mazur) as a cocaine trafficker and key figure in a massive money-laundering scheme involving one of the largest private banks in the world.
Bratt shares how he read transcripts and listened to real-life hidden tapes with key figures in this story. Bratt says the tapes were “terrifying in the implications” if someone involved double-crosses another. Bratt’s character Alcaino interacts as a business associate and friend with undercover federal agent Robert Musella (played by Bryan Cranston).
Bratt also shares how when he accepts a role for any film, he is always preparing for it beforehand in his head at all times, not just while on set.
