The Cabin is a surreal thriller about a mentally ill grad student and his wife. Robert is completing his PhD in Vietnamese Shadow puppet theater, and as the stress of school (and his lack of prospective career choices) bears down on him, he’s fallen into an obsessive compulsive routine. For him, the ritualistic behavior is the only way to stave off crippling anxiety. His wife, at the behest of her parents and friends, asks Robert to spend some time with her at her family’s woodland cabin, where she hopes they’ll work through the pressures on their relationship. Little do they know, that the cabin is actually a portal to a nightmarish realm of chaos, in which their most terrifying psychological anxieties will take physical form (

BIO:
Z.W. Wheeler (AKA Zach Wheeler) is a film studies student at Salisbury University. Originally from Washington state, he spent much of his childhood living overseas, attending school in more than five different countries, before moving to Annapolis MD for the latter half of his scholastic career. He has presented his film scholarship at student research conferences and is currently seeking publication. Z.W. Wheeler’s artistic background, however, goes beyond film; He’s also an experienced 2D artist. While he has acted and directed for the stage, The Trail is Wheeler’s directorial and writing debut for the screen. The film was produced in close creative collaboration with star Richard Kidney (Hopkins history major) and assistant director Josh Lynch (Eastern Shore TV man).
