Filmmakers / Actors Etta Devine and Gabriel Diani (The Selling) agree that most people think crowdfunding is going to be easy.  That by simply launching your campaign, backers from all over the world are going to pour in.  They tell us crowdfunding is a full-time job.  They reveal the majority of their pledges have come through Facebook and how they are using the new Kickstarter dashboard to track where their backers are coming from.  They believe in the legitimacy of having outside sources validating their efforts, such as blogs, websites, and influential people.  At the end they tell us some things that have not worked in attracting new backers.

Filmmakers / Actors Etta Devine and Gabriel Diani (The Selling) tell us some of the worst acting advice they have ever received and then they wonder if it was actually good advice.  What do you think?

Filmmakers / Actors Etta Devine and Gabriel Diani (The Selling) believe as artists you have to accept criticism in order to improve your craft.  They admit that it's hard to be satisfied with your work and they reference a Martin Scorsese quote that he always wished he had 10 more days of shooting.  In regards to giving feedback, they say you have to be careful because with some people it may appear that they are asking for feedback but in reality what they are seeking is praise.  That's why they recommend asking people what kind of criticism they are really looking for, whether it be general feelings, a pat on the back or going deeper into the work.

Filmmakers / Actors Etta Devine and Gabriel Diani (The Selling) tell us the story behind casting actor Barry Bostwick (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Spin City) as well all the other actors found in their comedy / horror independent film 'The Selling.'

Filmmaker Katherine Brooks shares her story of feeling disconnected and lonely despite having over 5000 friends on Facebook and how that isolation led her to make the documentary 'Face 2 Face.' The movie is not only her powerful journey to connect with her Facebook friends in person but of all of those she visited. The demand from others around the world to partake in the journey has prompted Katherine to say that Face 2 Face is more of a movement than a movie.

She also plans to book the film in independent theaters where she believes audiences should see the film. She avoided larger fests who's focus are big name stars and budgets and she encourages her fellow filmmakers to be selective when submitting to film festivals.
