Film Courage: This question comes from the Youtube user Write Heroes “Does a no-name person who submits to the competition with no previous sales, no contacts, have a chance of winning if the screenplay is good?”
Gordy Hoffman (BlueCat Screenplay Competition Founder & Judge): Absolutely, I mean almost everybody is at that same situation and I don’t ever look at names or agents or anything like that. Everybody has the same chance and if anyone is submitting to BlueCat, most people are in that case. So absolutely not, there is no prejudice towards people that are no-name or haven’t done anything yet.
Film Courage: From the Youtube user C CH “Are there any BlueCat submissions that after all this time still stand out in your memory and if so why?”
Gordy: Absolutely, there are several scripts that stand out and they stand out because I was overwhelmed by them. I was sort of in awe of them, they’re just special, they’re beautiful. Some of the ones that were finalists or didn’t totally make it but I just never forgot…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
