Film Courage: How old were you when you made your first feature film?

Gavin Michael Booth, Writer/Director/Cinematographer: I was 23-years-old. I’d watched Kevin Smith in high school…well maybe 22? I’d watched Kevin Smith, [Robert] Rodriguez, Richard Linklater. All of these guys come up and I made my film between $7,000 and $25,000 dollars. I just maxed my credit card, sold my comic book, sold my car and then I went and put it in Sundance and signed a million dollar deal with Miramax.

I’m like Oh? That’s all it takes? I can come up with $25,000 and then fail miserably. Because what they leave out of all of those glossy stories is that you have to make an amazing movie.
